The problem
Cosmetic car work is slow for everyone involved. Car owners phone around for quotes, repair and detailing businesses lose hours to the phone and to juggling separate tools, and dealerships and fleets have whole yards of cars to keep looking their best. Kwoted set out to bring it into one place: describe the job once with photos, get competing quotes from vetted local providers, then book, pay and track the work.
Repair and detailing businesses
- Hours on the phone answering questions, taking bookings and updating customers
- Calendars and capacity that are hard to manage
- Staff unsure what work is coming up, with jobs handed out by hand
- No easy, consistent way to get photos and details from customers for quoting
- Separate tools for enquiries, quoting and allocating tasks
Car owners
- Phoning and driving around just to get a price
- Hard to get several quotes to compare
- No way to know a provider’s reviews or the quality of their work
Dealerships, wholesalers and fleets
- Large numbers of vehicles to keep presentable
- Time spent managing repairs and cosmetic upkeep across a fleet
- Comparing quotes and finding providers with availability
What we did
We’ve partnered with Kwoted since 2022 across the whole product: marketplace strategy, brand identity, UX and UI, the web app, the landing page and marketing. We designed each side of the marketplace around how its users already work: car owners describe a repair in their own words and with photos, and repairers want good-quality jobs without chasing.
What we built
A web app with three portals. Customers get a guided quote flow, side-by-side quote comparison, a garage of saved vehicles, messaging and in-app payment. Service providers get a leads inbox, a quote builder with GST, a job pipeline, a calendar, invoicing and Stripe payouts. Admins manage the service catalogue, fee settings and provider approvals. Around 50 screens, 26 branded emails, SMS verification and Stripe Connect payments, built on Next.js and Supabase.
